Suicide Prevention

Increasing signs of depression often lead to suicide risk. Those signs include:

  • Sleeping more or less than normal
  • Increased drug usage
  • A feeling of hopelessness
  • Frequent mood changes
  • The ability to enjoy life is lost
  • Anger may increase to frequent rages
  • Deeper sadness

People are at very high risk for suicide if they have a plan for how to commit suicide and a way to carry out that plan. You should call 911 immediately and tell the operator about the suicide risk.
