When you join, you get value-added services and extra benefits that Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP) does not provide.

You can talk to a nurse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The nurse can help you with questions or help you decide what to do about your health needs. Call your doctor first with any questions or concerns about your health care needs.  Please call the toll-free nurse line number on your ID card.

Pregnancy handbook for pregnant members in case management.

Daily bus pass or cab fare for WIC offices, plan sponsored community events/classes or attend Member Advisory Groups meetings and member’s child(ren) who do not also have an appointment, as needed.

Fitting checkup and 20 percent off certain contact lenses and an additional $100 above the existing benefit towards contact lens a year for members 12 and older.

Aetna will provide a free first aid kit to newly enrolled members within first 30 days of enrollment.

1 allergy protector pillow cover, 1 additional peak flow meter and 1 additional holding chamber or spacer per year for each member with asthma.

Free $25 gift card for members who complete a follow-up visit with their doctor within 7 days of leaving the hospital.

Notary services free of charge for CHIP members.

$50 worth of diapers, baby wipes and similiar baby items for pregnant members who complete 10 prenatal visits and 1 postpartum visit.

Must be an Aetna Better Health member age 12 and older.  Stop-smoking counseling for non-pregnant Members age 12 years and older and stop-smoking products for Members age 18 years and older up to $200 each year after the CHIP benefit is exhausted.

Members 19 years and younger can get one sports physical exam per year. This is a different exam from the Well-Child Checkups.

Unlimited text messaging for members enrolled in the Federal Lifeline Program including free health education messages from Text4Babies, Text4Kids, and Text4Health.Those who qualify can apply here

Weight loss program including family counseling with a nutritionist / dietician for non-pregnant members ages 12 to 19; with a body mass index higher than 85th percentile. Precertification required.
