Value Added Benefits

We also offer some extra benefits to help with your health and wellness. In order to receive these extra benefits, members will need to show their Aetna Better Health of Kansas ID card. Please see the table below to find out about the extra benefits. No prior authorization is required.

Each member’s household can order $25 worth of certain OTC drugs and supplies per month from a catalog available by clicking here. Place an order from the catalogue at the following link: http://www.cvs.com/otchs/aetnaks. For frequently asked questions about this benefit, click here.

A complete set of dentures may be covered for physical disability (PD) and frail and elderly (FE) waiver members every five years, up to $2500.

 

Ask your Service Coordinator for more information about this benefit.

Family members of children in residential or inpatient psychiatric treatment can receive free transportation to the facility. Up to 10 round trips per year for 2 family members or guardians.

Pest control services for intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD), physical disability (PD), frail and elderly (FE), or brain injury (BI) waiver members that own their own home. Up to $250 per year.

Our After-School Program for members age 5 to 18 will pay up to $50 per year for YMCA, 4-H, Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts activities.

Members 21 years and older receive $500 per year toward dental services, including: dental exams/cleanings twice each year, annual bitewing X-rays, fillings and extractions, and fluoride treatments.

 

Aetna Better Health of Kansas uses SkyGen for your dental services. You can call SkyGen at 1-855-918-2257 (TTY 711), 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (CST).

 

Show your Member ID card when you go to your dental appointments.

Members 21 years and older receive $50 a year toward non-covered services such as no-line bifocals or anti-glare coating.

Free Android Smartphone with free minutes and data every month along with unlimited text messaging for members 18 year and older. Members also receive text information about health and wellness and free calls with Member Services.

Healthy Reward Incentive Program where members can get $10 - $25 gift cards when they complete wellness activities such as:

 

  • Vaccines
  • Yearly check ups

 

  • Diabetic eye exams

Members aged 13 – 21 years who get their checkups each year can get a $25 gift card every year they get a checkup.

Pregnant members are encouraged to make early and frequent prenatal and postnatal visits. The PROMISE Pregnancy Program includes:

 

  • A $10 gift card for your first prenatal visit.
  • A $10 gift card if you have a dental checkup during your pregnancy.
  • A $10 gift card if you have a postpartum visit with your doctor.

 

  • In addition, you can earn a reward gift card for seeing your doctor regularly during your pregnancy. The more visits you complete, the bigger the reward you can earn.

 

You can participate in the PROMISE Program by calling Member Services at 1-855-221-5656 (TTY: 711). Ask to speak to Service Coordination, where you will learn more about the program and they will help you complete a Health Screening Tool.

  • Extra 120 hours of respite care per year for caretakers of our waiver members on a waiver waiting list for HCBS services.

 

 

  • Extra 24 hours of personal care services for intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD), physical disability (PD) and frail and elderly (FE) waiver members.

 

 

  • Members with dementia who live in a private home can get a security package of 2 door and 6 window alarms.

Ted E. Bear M.D. Kids Club for newborns to age 12 receive incentives when they join the Club and earn gift cards for meeting certain goals.

Additional Transportation Services

 

  • Free rides for members going to the pharmacy, WIC eligibility appointments and prenatal classes.

 

  • Ten round trips per year for members going to job interviews, job training, shopping for work type clothing, food bank or grocery store for food and getting community health services otherwise not covered.

  • Members age 0 to 18 years with an asthma diagnosis can get an air purifier.

 

  • Stop smoking program which includes helpful text messages sent to your phone.

Members who have diabetes 21 and older receive two podiatry visits a year.

Mental Health First Aid is a class that teaches the general public how to help someone who may be having a mental health or substance use problem. The training helps to spot, understand, and respond to signs of addiction and mental illness.

Members 21 and older with a medical need can get up to 2 home-delivered meals a day for 7 days after discharge from an inpatient stay.

Weight Management program includes a 12-week Weight Watchers membership.
